Dear Microsoft Finance community
If a company purchases 10 laptops and issues them to employees over time (multiple months) and wants to only start deprecating them (placed in service) when they are issues to an employee what is the best way to approach this in D365.
Thanks very much,
Hello Michael,
You can do just that from Fixed Asset (Module) > Fixed Assets (Menu Item group) > Fixed Assets (FA Master) > Books.
You can switch off "Calculate Depreciation" and then when you want to start depreciation, switch on calculate depreciation and update the placed in service date and then depreciate, it will depreciate from this date. You can test this first if it fits your requirement.
Best Regards,
Hi Michael,
Yes, you may try to disable "Calculate Depreciation" parameters as MYGz mentioned, and adjust you want to start depreciation date as you wanted.
