Custom Smartlists

Posted on by Microsoft Employee

All,

I am still new to GP 2015 and well, we to like/love the features that assist in company wealth, but one annoying thing.

There is a lot of talk of GP2015 R2 custom smartlist not having a "default" view or the ability to double click on an order/PO/customer and open maintenance or inquiry for said function.

So is that still the case or are there some work arounds that have yet been released and not shared?

    RE: Custom Smartlists

    Hello Dave,

Step1.) Create a view in SQL [SYSTEM / COMPANY database] in that view write down whatever you want to show in Smartlist i.e   "VIEW_AP_APPLY"

Step 2.) Go to Smart List and create a new smartlist , then find your view in view session of your left hand side below.

Step 3.) There you find your view which you create in sql database [SYSTEM / COMPANY] Just check it out and then OK.....

    Hope this helpful for you.

    Thanks & Regards,

    Dave,

How are you going about creating your Default view. Also, do you have SmartList Builder (a third-party product), or are you using SmartList Designer (the native GP product)?

    Kind regards,

    Leslie

    Leslie,

Thanks for the reply, but when I create a "default" view for Sales Order Transaction, It only takes me to another location in the reports, and not Inquirey or Order Entry, as some of the default system SL do?

    Thanks.

    Hi D,

You have to create the 'Default' view as well as each of the Go To's. They do not automatically come with a custom SmartList Object.

    Kind regards,

    Leslie

When you create a smart list you can select windows to open, fields to fill in and scripts to run....

But I think custom smartlist have ability to double click on records and get to their maintenance and inquiry. Are you not able to do so?
