Duplicate Record found for entity: 1088 (salesorder)

We are at online CRM, upon creating a new order we are facing following exception. Following are the actions were taken to diagnose the problem, but no luck and we didn't reached to the root cause. Any body would like to come up and guide me through

  1. Trun off all plugins - no effect
  2. de-activating workflows - no effect
  3. disabling scripts - no effect
  4. Duplicate detection rules - none of the rule is configured for order
  5. using console app try to access the name of order with specified guid in exception but no order was found as well

    If you backup any record then it will generate a new Application number. You might have a plugin that generates an auto number based on the previous number. In my case, I have update the new number with the old one and the system was trying to generate a new number (though plugin).  That number already exists in the system.

    Hi Mohsin,

    I almost got a similar issue for case. On analyzing, we found that its an issue with the auto numbering in our case. We had a custom auto numbering solution, which generate Case number based on a running sequence, and when trying to create a new case, there was already a case with the same case number that was generated by the custom auto numbering solution (due to some migrated data). We had to increase the running sequence to the largest of case number to solve this problem.

    Hi Mohsin,

    probably  you have some plugin code which try to create a record instead of update it or from which it copied some attribute values.

    This is a tipical error when you retrieve an entity and then you try to create another record starting from it.

    In this case you could remove Id attribute or copy all the attribute except id, state and status.

    The "nine proof": try do disable all plugin steps over your entity.

    we actually just move customization from dev preprod, at dev there is no problem but at preprod it is throwing mentioned exception.

    Hi Mohsin,

    For new order that you are creating, Take Account or Contact and try to get the all order regarding that account or contact. When you query all order then can find better is there duplicate order or not.

    under entity customization you will see alternate key option - just check if there is any :

    is there an alternate key exist in your organization for sales order
