SmartList Favorite won't open from the Reminder

In GP 2010 R2, a user created a favorite from a Sales Transaction smartlist favorite but when he clicks the favorite it does not open the SmartList favorite, only opens the SmartList window.

I tested this by setting up a Security Role that only has access to the INQ_SALES_005* and DEFAULTUSER Security Tasks and gave that Security Role to a test user (that is the only role and task the test user has).

When I sign in as the test user I can open SmartList and go to the Sales > Sales Transactions smartlists and open any of the favorites.

I created a reminder from one of the Microsoft supplied favorites (Posted Invoices*). The reminder displays correctly on the home page.

When I click the reminder, the SmartList window opens, but the favorite does not open automatically. I have to manually open it.

Any ideas? Is there some additional security that needs to be added?

Hello Georgia,

The short answer to this is that you do need additional security. you need the INQ_SALES_001 task assigned to this role. This is the 'View Customer' task.

The more detailed answer is that there is a Smartlist security operation called 'Customer'. If you do not want to give access to INQ_SALES_001, you could add the 'Customer' Smartlist Object to a new Security Task or assign it to one of the other tasks you are using.
