Delete a won quote

I'm not that familiar with the Sales side of CRM so forgive me if I don't explain this well.  I believe what happened is a sales administrator added an account and quote was entered and indicated as won for a sales person not realizing the account already existed.  Now we need to delete that quote and that account but when we try to delete the quote a message "The record cannot be deleted because it is read-only.  I'm doing this as a user with system admin role.

Thanks
John

The quote with the status of Active or Closed can not be deleted. Only the quotes with the draft status can be deleted.

But in your case, you could deleted the account record. Thus the quotes attached to this account will be deleted as well.

When I try to delete the account I receive the message "The record cannot be deleted because it is associated with another record"

It seems that you have attached some other kind of records on this account.

Check the relationships 1-N of account with other entities. If in the Relationship Behavior section, the action Delete is configured as Restrict, you need to delete the N side records first and then delete this account.

As you said it's a duplicated account, you can also try merge the 2 accounts to be one unique.

I don't see any relationships to this account.  The only thing I can see is the quote and the invoice.  Neither of which I can delete.

I think that the solution from Chao doesn't work!

A account with a attached quote can not be deleted - I do not know any solution for this problem.

So there is no way of removing backing out an invoice and quote that was processed in error?  Leaving sales numbers incorrect?

As John said, they have both quotes and invoices attached to this account. I have checked the relationship behavior of the relationship between account and quote, and in the Delete action it's Cascade All, which means if you delete the account, the attached quotes will be deleted as well.

however, I also checked the relationship between account and invoice, while the relationship behavior on the action Delete is Restrict. That's the reason. It means you should delete the attached invoice before deleting this account.

Now the question is: how to delete a inactive invoice.

Functionally in my opinion it's not possible.

I realize I'm very new to MS CRM but it seems unreasonable to not be able to delete or some how reverse an invoice and quote.

You can around the limitation. You can create an on-demand workflow which changes the status of the quote back to draft. Highlight the record, apply the workflow and you'll be able to delete it. Similarly for invoices.
