Power BI, Value Entries is missing

Posted on by 267
Hi! I am new to Power BI and I is trying to do a sales report. I like to use the Value Entries page in Business central, when this page contains all data that I need and also have all amounts in LCY. (We use multiple currencies). There is one options made beforehand to load ValueEntries from Power BI, but that option will not load the customer number, and some other data from the page. Instead I have use the web service link from Page 5802 and used the URL-option which worked fine - I thought. But I now reliased that most of the first year are missing. Some early entries are there, but then it is a leap for several months with no entries. How can this be possible and what can I try to fix this?

For Power BI it's better to use the APIs instead. they are much faster, and contain more fields. On top if that you can also easily develop your own APIs, based on Queries, so you can aggregate and load a lot faster.

    Hi Zhu!
The data is in place in BC and even if I use an empty Power BI report I got the same result, so maybe it is your idea of too much data.

Is there a way to filter the data already in BC and just get what I want to get via web service? I just want to get the sales data, not purchases and stock adjustments, so I can easy filter the Value entry list. Or do I need to go by excel to get what I want?

Sorry if this is basics, I just got a crush course in Power BI, but that not covering the Business Central part.

Hi, generally, the data in Value Entries cannot be deleted by users. I think first you should confirm whether there is such data in the Value Entries in the BC.
If so, it means there is a problem with the Power BI report, and there may be some filter that affects the data.

Another possibility is that there are too many rows? Odata's processing limit exceeded.

    Hope this helps.
    Thanks.

Does your web services for page 5802 perhaps have some filters applied to it?

In the Web Services Page if you create a new service by using the new action button it simply adds the page with no filters. Have you created this service this way? If not, I would try creating a new one this way and see if it has the missing entries.
