Adjustment entry to the Item Ledger

Hello,
sometime in the distant past a failed entry has caused the item ledger to show positive Qty on Hand even though we do now have the stock and the location is long since closed.
Is there a way to remove that qty on hand without creating another issue, perhaps entering an adjusting entry? I’ve checked the warehouse entries and cannot see any posting in there and as far as I can see it seems to be a missing sales shipment entry – which if entered would net off the imbalance we have.

Hi

You could make some positive or negative adjustments, or also take a physical inventory that allows you to put your inventory in order.

Hi, If you need to adjust inventory, the only thing you can use is Item Journals (Physical Inventory Journals and other functions are also posted through Item Journals)

But the problem is, this adjustment will affect the financial data. . . .So you can manually post the adjustment amount through General Journals after adjusting inventory.
