All,

I have a scenario where we pack items in to cartoons and then cartoons are packed in a large shipping container. Using manual packing process, i am able to pack items in to cartoons, how can i pack cartoons in to a shipping container.

Can we do manual packing process using WMS portal. I don't want to use containerization as we don't define item dimensions.

    Hi Ivan,

Until now I only found a way to use nested containers based on automated packing process. For our customer we need to build nested containers manually (not necessarily with the mobile device). Is this possible, or can we only use the nested container in combination with the automated packing process (cloudblogs.microsoft.com/.../)

Thomas, we will publish a series of blog posts about all the new features in Warehouse management as soon as the Fall release happens publicly.

With AX 7.1 we have built a feature called "container grouping", which allows you to put one or more packed containers onto 1 license plate, essentially grouping them for work execution / shipping purposes. You can then move this large "container" around if necessary, or release the group, which will create work to load the stuff onto the truck (previously it would "magically" appear there, supporting only a conveyor belt story.

Under the hood the container LPs are nested on this one larger container group LP.

Manual packing is only available from the standard web client, not through WMDP.

I hear some partners have done customizations in this area, but it was not high on our list due to the fact that most manual packing stations are fixed, meaning you can have computers with touch screens there for the purpose of interaction with AX
