Quick Find View does not respect search criteria

Our Dynamics CRM 2011 started to behave weirdly after rollup 14.

Some of my “Quick Find” views (accounts and contacts) started to pop disabled records that matched the provided text.

I’ve done a few digging and tried to reset filters and added custom ones, just to confirm that the quick find is just matching the text filters and leaving off the additional criteria…

Also, our QA environment behaves perfectly, it only happens on production…

Someone have something like this?

Any help would be appreciated…

Thanks in advance!

    Hi Rodrigo,

thank you for using Microsoft Dynamics CRM Communities. Does the problem occur while running the Quick Find in both the web browser and the Outlook client or the Outlook client only ?

    Thank you in advance.

    Hi Nina,

I've found a solution for this last night, after some more digging...

Somehow, the quick find view lost the configuration on which columns should be searched for the text pattern entered in the textbox. The system adopted the default "name" column as the only column to search for.

But, for some reason, it left the rest of the filtering criteria out of the query.

Adding a column back to the list solved the issue...

It's probably a bug that never happened to no one, as removing all columns from this config is not an expected configuration...

I'll remove some permissions in the next few days... :-)

Thanks for your reply and hope others facing this issue in near future can find this post...

I'm experiencing this right now as well... but am unclear what your fix was. It looks like you added a column back to the search query?

Figured it out, thanks for the post. It was because our "Add Find Columns" had been nulled out by, I believe (but haven't confirmed), a managed solution.

I've never found what happened to this config... And it never happened again, so far...

    Glad it helped someone!

HI, Can you explain the detail to fix this issue?

    Hi keiutou,

My issue started after someone removed all items (but the default “Name” column) from the “search columns” (5th item in the right, while customizing the “quick find” view).

    8233.temp.png

For some bug-ish reason, the system started to return all items that matched the string searched, despite other filters being configured for this view.

After adding some itens back to the “search columns” list, the filtering criteria started to applied as well.

Let me know if this cleared it all for you!
