RE: GP 2010 exchange rates are automatically being updated

We encountered this problem after upgrading to GP0210. Prior to the upgrade we had total control of the exchange rates and entered them manually whenever we felt it was necessary, usually once a month. After the upgrade we starting noticing new exchange rates appearing, sometimes three or four times a day. I added a trigger on the exchange rates table to send an email every time a new rate was inserted; this allowed us to understand the frequency of these updates and to delete them quickly.

We  contacted our GP Consultants who eventually brought in a Microsoft Technical programmer. The programmer logged in remotely and debugged the stored procedure that he suspected was creating the duplicates, taPMTransactionInsert. It seems that the upgrade included a bug-fix (Bug ID#56677 ) that assigned posting date to document date, and this triggered the updates. He sent us the prior unencrypted version of this code, installed it, and it has been working fine ever since.

    Thanks for your reply Richard.

I believe it has something to do with #2. I have opened a ticket with Dynamics and they were unable to help. I thought I found a round about way to deal with it, but it didn't pan out.

My problem is stemming from the Contract Entry/Update screen. When I am updating a contract to invoice, I add the current rate into the exchange rate table.  In the Conract Entry/Update screen, I choose the rate,  but it won't "save" to the contract...it goes back to the old rate.  I have tried to use different dates (ie, the start of the contract term or date that I am actually billing etc). I am not sure if it is an exchange rate issue or Contract admin issue.

This is starting to throw off our revenue numbers and needs to be fix asap.

Thanks for any insight you may have.

RE: GP 2010 exchange rates are automatically being updated

    Either:

    1)  You have a third party product that is updating the rated

    2)  Rates are not being updated but are expiring and reverting to another rate.

    3)  You have someone doing the updating and you don't know who it is

Did you ever find a solution to this issue? We are having the same problems.
