Migrating AX 2012 R3 Client Forms to EP

I have created a small Vendor Management Client solution using Dynamics AX 2012 R3 and would like to deploy to the Enterprise Portal, I can't figure out the best practice to do this.  I am starting to wonder if I have to do all the .NET coding from scratch and basically reinvent the wheel from my existing client solution.  I assume there's got to be a way to compile my X++ to an aspx? Some best practice migration techniques?  Please help!  Thank you

As per my best knowledge, I don't think so that there is any converter which can transforms AX forms into EP controls.

Can you kindly suggest a converter?  Which do you prefer?

    Thank you for your time.

If you create a form in Dynamics AX 2012 and it is of type ListPage

then it can be deployed to EP without big effort

Please review following link for more details

    msdn.microsoft.com/.../cc519455.aspx

Please verify and update us if this helps you.

There are no converters, only ListPage can be transformed.

    Please follow following steps

Create a new List Page by using the template option provided in AX 2012

Modify the form as per your requirement

Create menu items of type display by dragging and dropping the form to the Menu items >> Display

Right click on the newly created menu item >> chose option “Deploy to EP”

Add this form to Home\sales (or whichever menu you want). specify this in dialog box and click on Ok button

Info log will show that your aspx has been successfully deployed

Please verify and update us if this helps you

Thank you very much for these detailed instructions, Nitesh.

I have a follow up question:  Is there an easy way to convert an existing non-ListPage form to a ListPage form?

No we are not having any specific tool which can convert non-ListPage to ListPage form

It will require you to redevelop it.

As per my understanding using Form Templates it is quite easy to create a ListPage

As you have already having form designed,

I consider it will be more easy as you have already designed form... you need to recreate it using ListPage Template and refer existing form to recreate it.

It will be something like rework

Please verify and let me know if you need any technical support

    Hello Nitesh,

I have a few follow-up questions regarding EP:

    1. What is the standard development process for creating EP pages?

    2. Are there any limitations/disadvantages to creating/converting AX forms to ListPage templates for use in One Click Deployments?

    3. If I need to provide both a hard client and EP page which contains many details, controls, etc., what is the best way to develop without having to create the same page twice?

Thank you very much for your time.

I know AX 2009 we had something like SysEPWebFormConverter  msdn.microsoft.com/.../cc615339(v=ax.50).aspx to convert forms to web forms. Do we have something like this Ax 2012 R3. I know it was said earlier only list pages can be converted, wondering how they converted the detail forms to work for EP without a conversion tool. we have a custom module with many custom forms so looking for a tool that will do the same in AX 2012 R3 for Enterprise Portal.
