    Hi Sachin

Create a relation of DRF EDT with the primary data source table. For your reference i attached screenshot of projId

Why do you have two forms at all? It seems to me that you should use Details Transaction pattern or so - it contains both the navigation grid and details. If you're not familiar with form patterns in D365FO, look into documentation at User interface development home page and related pages.

By the way, the category should be Development, not Other, and the tag "Management Reporter" (at least) seems unrelated to your question.

    Hi Sachin,

Have you tried to use your field to define a relationship to other table?

You can refer to the description of this thread and how to set the FormRef property.

Hello Blue, As per your and Akhilesh's Advice i have created relationship between the source and destination table by considering ProdTable. please find the screen shot below.

Relationship for drf table created by me

    Relationship in ProdTable

    Error32.PNG

Also i have created EDT as suggested by Akhilesh , but i am not able to add table relations in my EDT , like i can see in Projid EDT. Please advise me how to add table relations in EDT , does it appear automatically or we need to add manually here. for adding manually i can not see any option to add table relation in EDT.

Please find the screen shot below.

DRF EDT (No Table Relations appearing)

Also please correct me if i am wrong , after creating relationship between the  table we must create EDT in our solution to create link on the field , right ?

I'm still wondering why you don't design the form in the way usual in D365FO. You've artificially created the problem you're dealing with.

Relations on EDTs are also something from the past. You can't create new ones, because they're deprecated. Relations should be added to tables instead.

    Hi Sachin,

As Martin explained, you can no longer add relationships in EDT.

You only need to add the relationship between the field and another table field to link it.

If you want to use EDT, you can try to set Table References.

Hello Mertin and Blue, Let me explain the whole scenario, may be i am following wrong approach , since i am completely new to D365 Development.

I have a Custom form (DRF Form) for this form i had created a custom table (DRF Table) as all details entered in this form goes to the same Table. Since there was no list page for this form users  were not able see the previously entered data. he can only able to see the first record entered in the form and he can only create a new record.

I wanted a list page for this form and i have created one which picks  data from the same table (DRF Table) , now this list page form is appearing in D365 but again users can not open the record by clicking on DRFFormNumber (Unique identifier for the DRF form).

I Thought of creating a link in  DRFFormNumber  field so that user could reach to the respected record he wants to view or edit.

Here both form (List page form and DRF Form ) are connected with the same customer table((DRF Table)). as i have created relationship between the same column  DrawingRequestNumber in DRF Table  , but still i cannot see the hyperlink in the DrawingRequestNumber  column in D365 UI.

Kindly guide me where i am making mistake in the process or the whole approach is wrong.  and advice me what steps i need to follow to achieve this

You're wrong in thinking that you need a list page form to show a list of records. You've merely implemented DRF Form incorrectly - you must use a form pattern that includes a grid view. Did you already looked at the links I gave you? If not, please do it now.

Which form pattern are you currently using for DRF Form?

All right Martin i will look into the for links again and will change form design accordingly. Currently Design Pattern for the DRF Form is "Custom"

You should always use standard form patterns. It ensures that the user experience is consistent, it's important for responsive GUI design, it tells you what controls you need to use and where, it validates that and it fills in many properties for you.

"Custom" form is intended for exceptional cases only.
