Transaction Log table record deletion

My company have upgraded from AX4 to AX 2012 R2.

From time to time various posting errors occur relating to CANNOT CREATE A RECORD IN TRANSACTION LOG THE RECORD ALREADY EXISTS.

Basically, I am wondering is it ok to delete everything from this table and have a clean slate as we really don't use or need the data from a business viewpoint, I am more concerned if the system uses this data for any update function.

    I agree with Andre.

    Someone probably has taken the advise from the SQL profiler and modified the Index and added a field to a index wich has the property allow duplicates: no.

    Hi Kauto,

    Controllers do not like to have this table deleted as you then delete tracing options on postings.

    AX will not block when you delete the records, but it is not recommended.

    AX provides a CreatedTransactionId for this table (unique index). This might be broken by a non standard upgrade or another action.

    Yes, it is ok to delete the records in TRANSACTION LOG .
