Linking the Social Pane to seperate entities.

Hi,

I'm just wondering if its possible to link the Social Pane activities between 2 seperate entities.

Currently, we have a Social pane in both our Opportunities and Contact forms. But to view the activities, we need to go into the Contact form to see them.

Is it possible to mirror the social pane from the Contacts form directly to the Opportunity form?

Thanks as always.

Ted

    Hello,

thank you for your question. This topic is not quite related to the lists and campaign management functionality for Dynamics 365 apps.

Did little research but see in docs that the option “Pass record object-type code and unique identifier as parameters” is used to bring the context to the insights. But I do not see an obvious way to pass instead the ID of Opportunity.Contact instead of the opportunity entity ID.  So I would think this is not possible. Unfortunately I am not an expert on this topic.

But I am reaching out to the respective team and hope to find a definite answer on this topic.

    Hello,

this does not quite answer the original question, but is an interesting read on the topic and could help still. This article compares the capabilities of Microsoft Social Engagement vs. the new Dynamics 365 Market Insights.

The new product features better social selling: "Empower your sales people to sell more by leveraging social media. Sales teams can gather intelligence, source new leads, and build credibility. Source high-quality leads to identify and act on buying signals, and then create new leads based on social posts."

And this allows customer to link social posts to Leads or create Dynamics 365 records based on rules reacting on observation from social insights!

I think this is a very powerful mechanic to consider.
