RMS v2.0 Quickbooks integration problem

Dear all, I have a problem with integrating my Quickbooks integration. I searched all resources about the problem but no one seems to have the same situation. The problem is very simple: When setup the integration: I go to file > configuration > accounting > select Quickbooks 2003 and later > click receive. I get the following message: Could not connect to Quickbooks Error Details: The application trying to connect to Quickbooks does not support Quickbooks Simple Start Edition. Pleas contact the manufacturer of your application for a version that does support Quickbooks Simple Start Edition. I tried it on several different computers, with different quickbooks versions, but with no luck. They give me all the same error. Please help, because I cannot find a solution for it elsewhere. Kind regards, Justin Janson

Re: RMS v2.0 Quickbooks integration problem

I don't know about Quickbooks Simple Start Version, but there are versions which will not work with RMS. I spent an entire day with an oversee's customer (UK) only to discover that Intuit products sold outside of the US may not work with RMS.

This information was posted in the Quickbooks Forum, but nowhere on the Dynamics site... go figure.

I suggest you try it with Quickbooks Pro - US Version. It works well and I have configuration help at www.ezprs.com.

    Good Luck

If you want it up and running correctly with support, contact jean@jeanholland.com.   They also have a module that enhances the RMS to QuickBooks if you desire more functionality.

Microsoft RMS & Quickbooks Pro Edition 2006 integration problem

Hi everyone, similar problem as the previous poster: I go to... file > configuration > accounting > select Quickbooks 2003 and later > click receive. I get the following message: Could not connect to Quickbooks Error Details: "Blank response received from QuickBooks."

However, in my case, this message is immediately followed by "congratulations, integration was successful".  But when I go to... utilities > import QuickBooks > click import.  I get the following message: "Data was not successfully imported. Refer to 'QBImport5.log' for details.

When I open this report it says:

Accounts: QuickBooks error - Blank response received from QuickBooks.
Terms: QuickBooks error - Blank response received from QuickBooks.
Suppliers: QuickBooks error - Blank response received from QuickBooks.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated...

Re: Microsoft RMS & Quickbooks Pro Edition 2006 integration problem

    One piece of advise to all of you 'Do-It-Yourself" users;

Have your accounting integrated by an experienced Microsoft RMS Partner.  if it is important enough to post to an electronic accounting package, than it is importantenough to be done correctly. Errors in the data being posted can result in improperly reported sales tax, liability of deposits and vouchers, and A/P as well as a number of other areas.

You can reach Jean at jean@jeanholland.com to do this correctly.   Saving a few dollars by doing it yourself could result in bogas data and a nice go around with the various tax authoritiers.

As stated in a previous post, and based upon a similar issue. This appears to be a Non-US version of the Quickbooks Software. Canadian and European version seem to be different from the US Version. And the will not allow integration. At least I was unable to do so, even with Microsoft Tech Supports help.

Re: Re: Microsoft RMS & Quickbooks Pro Edition 2006 integration problem

     Hi there

We are an RMS and Quickbooks partner in Aussie (Advantage Solutions).  In Aussie the RMS integration also didn't work and our customers required integration, so we developed a tool to do this. The tool will display all unposted batches (a batch is created after a Z Read) and enables you to check that the Batch balances and posts into Quickbooks.  We have a graphical interface to allow you to select RMS and Qucikbooks accounts and link them.  It also passes across Purchase Order details into Quickbooks, so when you enter a supplier invoice into Quickbooks, it can recall the Puechase order amount for invoice matching.

Our web site is soon to be updated, so unfortunately will not find any info there, so If you are interested in some detail and a web based demo, please email me at richardm@advantagesolutions.com.au.

     Cheers

    Richard

Re: Re: Re: Microsoft RMS & Quickbooks Pro Edition 2006 integration problem

    Hi,

QuickBooks (version 2003 and later) ships with the SDK. With this, it is very possible to develop your own utilities to integrate RMS to your QuickBooks installation.
