Hello All!
I have a client who wants to move there Dynamics SL 2011 to a new server but also wants to upgrade it to 2018 SL. Is this possible, if so what would it take?
Current Server: Windows Server 2012 with Microsoft Dynamics SL 2011 and SQL Server 2012.
Destination Server: Windows Server 2019
You would want to review the SL2018 system requirements and installation documents to make sure new servers are compatible. These can be found in Microsoft documents. Here is a link to the software page.

You may also contact their SL support VAR for assistance as they should be knowledgeable about the process.
I would recommend upgrading first to SL2018CU1 before upgrading past that, especially if they have customized screens. For whatever reason, following this process (even though it takes longer) seems to be less problematic in the long run.
