How do I resolve a Http 401 Unauthorized error with Dynamics 365 Navision Web Services?

I have an odd issue with web services in Dynamics Nav 365 Business Central. At the moment, we are migrating from Dynamics Nav 2009 r2 to 365. Our new Dynamics Nav setup consists of a four environment (i.e., development, QA, User-Acceptance-Testing (UAT) and Production).

When connecting to a Code Unit via Web Services, connectivity and processing succeeds without issue, but in QA and UAT, it doesn't and I get the following error:

"The HTTP request is unauthorized with client authentication scheme 'Negotiate'. The authentication header received from the server was 'Negotiate oXcwdaADCgEBom4EbGBqBgkqhkiG9xIBAgIDAH5bMFmgAwIBBaEDAgEepBEYDzIwMjEwMjE4MTg1MjAxWqUFAgMC5zWmAwIBKakQGw5NR0QuTVJTSE1DLkNPTaocMBqgAwIBAaETMBEbD3N2Yy1OYXZpc2lvbkFwcA=='."

All environments configured the same way and each environment has its own Windows service account to be used with the Web Service. The username/password passed to the web services are not locked out as they are used to start up the Nav instance.

Any idea's on how i can diagnose or solve this problem?

Are you using NTLM authentication or UserPassword? and are you accessing these web services internally or from an external site? Please make user Use NTLM authentication is checked if you are using Windows, if you are using UserPassword then you need to use the Web Service Access Key.

I seem to find a resolution almost always after I post the question. It turns out that enabling NTLM authentication for Windows authentication did the trick along with . I unfortunately have to re-create our web service wrapper to call the web service we used to call in Nav 2009 r2. The code seems to have disappeared, but it is not a huge concern as all it did was call the web service module.

Anyway, I have a solution now which should work for us moving forward.

Enabling Ntlm Authentication within the Business Central Administration for my Instance resolved the problem.
