Workflow Error: “Cannot Create an Activity Party of the Specified Object Type”

Hello,

I am trying to set up 2 workflows; one that sends an email the user that created the case when the case is reassigned and one that sends an email when the status changes to resolved. I can see that the workflow is initiated; however it does not consistently succeed in sending an email.

When I open the system job, I see the error “Cannot Create an Activity Party of the Specified Object Type”. How can I resolve this error?

Below are some screenshots of my workflows & the error. I receive the same errors with the Case Resolved workflow.

    Hi KJG,

    Looks like it is failing on the step where it is sending an email notification

    click on view properties to check the recipients.

    comparing both the workflows mentioned above do you see a difference in the case owner.

    Is it a user or a team?

    Hi Sudhir!

    Thanks very much for the reply! I modified the email to be "From" the "Modified By" user instead of the "Owner" because the owner is a team. Now, the workflows work!

    Would it matter if this was configured to use a team. I have a similar issue now whereby the Workflow errorstates: cannot create an activity part of the specified object type

    This happens to be configured to send on behalf of a team
