2 companies merged recently (2 separate accounts). Need to know if both can be merged as one account in CRM. I believe so, just need to be sure on this one.
Hi,
yes, we can
Select the records, and then click Merge.
In the Merge Records dialog box, select the master record (the one you want to keep), and then select any fields in the new record that you want to merge into the master record. Data in these fields may override the existing data in the master record. Click OK.
Note
There are three situations when duplicates may be found:
When a record is created or updated.
Duplicates aren't detected when you merge records, convert a lead, save an activity as completed, or change the status of a record, such as activating or reactivating a record.
Hope this helps!

Hello TechScout17 ,
Yes, you can merge 2 accounts in CRM by manually also when needed.
make sure to select the data which you want to carry forward in the main master record. because it will also affect the timeline activities.
Please refer below blogs which will provide more details about it.

Thank you,
Amit Katariya
Keep in mind, these are not duplicates. They have two different account names. However, one of the companies just bought the other. Still okay to merge?
Yes you can marge, it will not create any issue. The child record will be deactivated after the merge.
Awesome, Thank You!
TechScout17,
Keep in mind that the "purchased" company will appear to have always been part of the "purchasing" company after the merge. So, if the "purchasing" company is truly "absorbing" the the "purchased" company and it makes no difference to your business that they will appear as having been the same company, merging is fine. If the "purchased" company will be some sort of wholly owned subsidiarity of the "purchasing" company and your company will continue to do business with them in the same manner, you may want to consider associating the companies using "Parent Account".
