Hi,

Our customer is using Dynamics 365 Supply Chain Management and I would like to update our customer's product physical dimension which are width, length, height and weight.

I need an API for updating these dimensions but I couldn't find.

I checked this pages but there isn't any API for reaching these dimensions.

https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/dynamics365/supply-chain/inventory/inventory-visibility-api

https://docs.oasis-open.org/odata/odata-json-format/v4.01/odata-json-format-v4.01.pdf#page=13&zoom=100,124,582

https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/common-data-model/schema/core/operationscommon/entities/supplychain/productinformationmanagement/ecoresphysicalproductdimensiondetailsentity

How can I find public API for updating physical dimensions?

Thanks.

    Hi Beeirmak,

Can you explain what you mean with "customer's dimensions of product"? Which table is involved here or on what form and what fields are you referring to? Is it the physical dimensions on the release product details?

In General, you can use OData and make a call to data entities which are set to public. Which data entity to use depends on which table and fields needs to be updated. If your question is about the released product details, then you can use the entity 'ReleasedProductMasterV2'.

    Hi Andre,

Thank you very much for your response. However, I am having a real difficulty understanding MD 365 Documents.

What we're trying to do is very simple. Our customer has products in their inventory and we would like to update the physical length, width and height of those products via MD365 API (over internet).

We have done the same for various WMS and ERP suppliers and their documentation is very straight-forward.

    Here I have 2 questions:

    - What is the endpoint address for updating the width, length and height of a product?

    - How does the API request look like?

I believe these are fundamental and simple but MD 365 documentation makes it impossible to figure out.

I would appreciate if you can help me out.

    Regards

    Hi beeirmak,

Thanks for providing more details. You can use OData calls to update data. You can start reading the documentation about OData for Dynamics 365 F&O.

Open Data Protocol (OData) - Finance & Operations | Dynamics 365 | Microsoft Docs

There are over 1500 data entities which can be used for OData You can try to start with the entity I mentioned in my previous reply. Let us know if you need more specific information.

    Hi Andre,

    Thank you for your response,

I already checked this page but I will check it again. Also found entity for product's dimension here

    docs.microsoft.com/.../ecoresphysicalproductdimensiondetailsentity

but I just don't know the endpoint for updating data.

One more question, is there any test api or test platform ?

    Regards

    Hi beeirmak,

The technical object name is EcoRecPhysicalProductDimensionDetailsEntity. For OData, you need a public entity name which is often different. For this entity it is: 'PhysicalProductDimensionDetails'.

    Hi Andre,

Thank you for your help. I will search in OData using this entity(PhysicalProductDimensionDetails).
