We are currently on Solomon 6 is which is not supported I know. I started my upgrade test to 7 but stopped due to another project. We are about to install and setup Hyper V in Windows 2008 enterprise R2 and I would like to setup a test server for Solomon 2011 and another one for Sql 2008 R2.
I am thinking about doing my test upgrade all over and need to know if I can upgrade straight from 6.0 to 2011.

It's worth noting that Office 2010 is also listed as a requirement.

Yes, it is possible to upgrade directly from SL 6.x to SL 2011. The earliest version where a straight upgrade may be performed to 2011 is version 4.1x. And unfortunately as far as XP goes, it is not supported for use with SL 2011. Basically, 2011 is only going to be supported with the most recent OS and SQL releases (i.e. Windows 7, WS 2008, SQL 2008).
