Why would we be getting the following message, "error occurred connecting to the source system" when trying to generate a report in Management Reporter.

Staff needs to sign on to the app wth a password that is the same as the password to GP - so its a valid ID & password. Other staff can generate the report so there is no issue with connection to the server.

Security for the indivdual is at the Administrator level & he has access to all companies.

Any help would be appreciated

As Jill mentioned, you can use the event viewer to view the error to view the errors. You can refer to the following blog post troubleshoot the error:

To troubleshoot Management Reporter connection problems go to Event Viewer to get additional information on the error.

In Event Viewer click Windows Logs and then click Application. Under the Source column look for Management Reporter Report Designer or Management Reporter Services.
