Dynamics NAV iOS App (v 2.6.9101) cannot connect to on-premise on iOS 13 (self-signed-certificate)

Hello,

with the introduction of iOS 13, we're no longer able to login to our dynamics nav 2016 on-premise installation.

We deployed a valid self-signed-certificate and the connection to our serverwithin the iOS App worked flawless, prior to iOS13.

Since iOS 13, the connection to our server cannot be established (no further error-message). When I logon to our server within safari browser on iOS 13, the connection can be established, but we would like to use the iOS App instead.

Has anyone the same issue or a solution for this problem?

    Hi,

I am running into the same issue.

Have you found a solution for this yet and if so, care to share it ?

    Hello Ron,

sorry for the late reply. So far, I haven't found a solution for this problem. I hoped, it would be adressed with an update of the NAV app. Our sales staff is still running iOS 12 on their devices.

When I have some time to play (usually between the years), I will generate a new self-signed certificate (which is more secure) since apple has released some new requirements for self-signed-certificates with iOS 13.

I have found the solution in the meantime.

Problem is related to new way of creating self-signed certificate.

    Certificate is made with New-SelfSignedCertificateEx.ps1

    Import-Module .\New-SelfSignedCertificateEx.ps1

New-SelfSignedCertificateEx –Subject “CN=<DNS NAME SERVER” –IsCA $true -SignatureAlgorithm SHA256 -SubjectAlternativeName <DNS NAME SERVER> -EnhancedKeyUsage 1.3.6.1.5.5.7.3.1 –Exportable –StoreLocation LocalMachine -notafter $([datetime]::now.AddYears(2))

    This works for me
