Microsoft Dynamics GP (Archived)

dynamics gp and an error has occurred in thescript on this page, unspecified error

Posted on by 125

Using Citrix with a published application, all users are experiencing this error when they try to log into GP:

An error has occurred in the script on this page.

Line: 423

Char: 6

Error: Unspecified error

Code: 0

URL: file:///C:/Users/theusername/AppData/Local/Temp/3/tmp3CC4.tmp

The machine is Windows 7, Office 2010, IE 8. The user has all rights on the appdata folder, we have done the following:

1. Verify that Active Scripting, ActiveX, and Java are not being blocked by Internet Explorer

2. Verify Citrix Connection Center have full access

3. IE> Tools> Internet Options> advanced> Tick "Disable script debugging check box" and Untick "Display a notification about every script error"

4. Downloaded and installed the Web Components for Office 2003

5. load http:\\dexterity in your trusted sites in IE

6. The printers are the same as all the other machines accessing GP.

I am not sure what else to try. We have narrowed down the issue to the workstation and I am out of ideas. How do i fix this?

We found a different solution as this happened no matter what we have done. We moved to a Citrix 6.5 farm and this resolved the issue. It has to do with dual monitors. A work around for this if the users are not on Citrix 6.5, they can turn off dual monitors before they launch citrix and then re-enable dual monitors once they have their applications open.

We discovered through testing that the issue was with the temp folder.

We migrated a user to a new laptop and carried over all files from the directory "Users\(theusername)" to the new laptop.

To Isolate the problem we reimaged the laptop and copied all files *EXCEPT* the temp folder from the old PC.   The user was able to launch the GP application with no issues after that.

This fixed the problem for us.   Good Luck!
