Multi Tier Workflow

Posted on by 30

I am trying to get a workflow to work using the following criteria:

1st - Workflow User Group where only one member has to approve.

2nd - specific approver.

I've read and tried all other threads on this, but cannot for the life of me, get the workflow to action as above. It either approves the transaction when the 1st one approves, or doesn't send through to the 2nd, or leaves approvals for the remaining parties.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

    Hi,

Create a workflow user group with all the first approvers with sequence 1 and the specific approver as sequence number 2..

Then setup your workflow as follows:

On the first step, ensure you add the step that says Approve the approval request for the record such that when the 2nd approver approves it will change all the remaining Open statuses from sequence 1 to Approved

Hi Andy, thanks for the reply. I have my workflow user group set up in that format.but it either expects all three in sequence 1 to sign off (I only want 1) or approves the entire process without ever getting to the user in seq 2. I've tried the conditions as "pending" and also "approval requests" = 1 but no joy

Hello - Could you try setting up a Workflow User Group and set it up like the following:

    User1 Seq 1

    User2 Seq 1

    User3 Seq 1

    User4 Seq 2

Users 1, 2, and 3 should get the Approval.  Once either approves it should go to User4 for final approval.
