One of the GP user try to open a transaction level attachments for a invoice and he got an error that says
"RUN APPLICATION ERROR"
"c:\USER\####\AppData\Local\Temp\3\xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx.pdf" returned 5

We tried to open the same transaction with a different user that uploaded the document and it works fine, another user tried to open up the same transaction and it opens the attachment as well.

We even try to open up the transaction using sa but its still getting an error, does anyone know how to resolve this?

    Very well could be, though the fact that some attachments open and others not if they're coming from the same location is odd. Moving forward, I'd probably change the default attachment location to a shared network drive, especially since temp folders often get deleted which would cause the attachment to be gone forever.

    I've check the permissions for that folder and he has access to it. It only happens on certain attachments. Some attachments open, some don't.

    I'm wondering if it being in the temp folder is the reason of this error.

    Where is the C:\ drive located? I'm guessing that either the user it's not working for doesn't have the correct permissions to the folder if it's an external C: drive, otherwise if it's local to the user's machine that uploaded it then no one else would be able to access.

    For an easy test - have the two users switch computers and login as themselves.
