Anyone found a solution on tracking assets and components sent for service, upgrade, or calibration outside own organisation?
What we see as a quite common working process is to exchange components used in production for 3rd party calibration, repair, or service. In the process we need to keep control of the asset/component, as well as adding the cost of handling and repair before received back to own warehouse. The value of the stored asset/component has then increased by the cost from the 3rd party, added to any remaining depreciation-value.
