Importing Contacts

I am trying to do a test Contact import and it doesn't seem to be working correctly, It says the import has gone through successfully but when I look at the import logs the status reason shows as submitted with nothing processed

I have a Parent Organisation which I have removed and then tried to import but still same as above

Hi Uzma,

Are you using CRM Online or CRM OnPremise?

How big is the data file you are trying to import?

Usually data import is done asynchronously - so the first thing i would check is the Async Service (if it is OnPrem) - if it's online then maybe it's worth reaching out to MS Support to have them check it.

Hi Uzma,

1. Restart Async service

2. User CSV file instead of usual .xls.

Hi there! Yeah, the CRM data import is not always as simple and straightforward as it should be (mainly when the relationship between the data should be preserved). That's why there are some services that allow performing data switch. Data2CRM (here is an official listing appsource.microsoft.com/.../magneticone.crm-data-migration ) probably, is one of the leaders among others tools. It offers a direct Contact, Account, Leads, etc. data import to MS Dynamics (www.data2crm.com/.../microsoft-dynamics-crm-migration-service ) in a fully automated way. It uses API and others methods and technologies. Besides, it provides a user/data mapping, as well as the free demo, and the possibility to restart migration over. Hope, my answer will help you!
