audit workbench audit cases not appearing - Security configuration information required

Hi,

I am hoping someone can help.

I would like to grant access to the Audit Cases screen to view and maintain, but not the full access as an Auditor Role.

I have created my own role and would like to add the duties to the role:

as this is what appears in security diagnostics. However when i grant the new role to a user the user can see the menu item but no cases.

As system admin i can see all cases, and if the out of the box Auditor Role is applied you can also view the cases, but when the above duties are applied to a new role or duplicated role it will not allow the user to view any cases.

Please can someone advise what extra security access do i need to apply in order for the user to view the Audit cases.

Kind Regards

Hetal

    Hi Hetal,

In case the user gets the standard Auditor role assigned, are the cases then still not visible? Probably there is a user filter applied in case the user is not a system administrator. When I tested this scenario, both a system user and the system administrator is able to see all the audit cases.

You can try adding the role XDSDataAccessPolicyBypassRole to see if it is related to a data security policy. In case this helps, it will not be the final solution as this role will disable all data security policies. See also: What is the purpose of the two new XDS security roles? - Dynamicspedia. At least, you then know that a security policy restricts the available records. You then need to understand how the policy is built and what to do to make records visible.

    Hi

As system administrator user, open the screen that you want to create new role for it, from Options click on Security Diagnostics and this will show all the roles related to this screen, from it you can know what to add to your new role.

How to view security diagnostics for page in Dynamics 365?

    Thanks,
    Waed Ayyad

This is because you need to define in the "case category type security" which security roles can access the specific case types. Make sure you select case type "Audit" and then select the security roles, which you want to be able to interact with cases of that type.
