Consumed budget in Project budget balances is not tie up with Posted transaction

Hi,

I'm comparing the consumed budget under Project management and accounting>>Common>>Projects>>All projects>>Control in the action pane>>Project budget balances>>Consumed budget versus the transactions under Project management and accounting>>Common>>Projects>>All projects>>Manage in the action pane>>Posted transactions and found out that it is not match.

There are transactions in the posted transactions that are not existing in consumed budget.

Isn't it that the posted transactions should match with consumed budget?

I'm using AX2012 R3 with kernel and application version 6.3.5000.138.

Thanks.

I have the same question (0)

    Hello marypeace,

In AX2012 R3 versions older than the one that you use there were some problems with this form and the data shown there but in your R3 version things should work fine.

Do you have some technical colleagues around who could help you debugging the data that are shown in this form to ensure that they tie up and are not impacted by a system bug?

    Best regards,

    Ludwig

    Hi Ludwig,

I worked with our developer and we found out that there are posted transactions that are not present in project budget reduction history table in the backend, that is why remaining budget is not correct.

Do you know of a hotfix for this?

    Thanks.

    Hi marypeace,

I have not found a fix that is applicable to your system environment but please double check with your colleague here:

    fix.lcs.dynamics.com/.../Results

If you cannot find something as well then either your development colleague fixes the problem directly or you open a support case with MS.

    Best regards,

    Ludwig

    Hello Nada Samir,

Please check the available hotfixes on LCS especially if you work on an older AX2012 version.

Might be the case that you run in an 'old' bug.

    Best regards,

    Ludwig

I am currently using D365 version 10.0.26 and i am getting the same issue.

My Budget is not reflecting the posted invoice ( which appears on Posted Project Transactions).

Can someone please help me understand why this could be happening?

    Hi Mia,

Can you create new transactions with same project category(selected in project budget) and check. I think project posted transactions before budget approval does not reflect in budget balances.

    Hi,

    Thank you for the response.

    I have done exactly that.

I have posted the Project Budget, it has been approved. I then posted a PO against the project and the project category on the Budget.

The committed cost is not appearing on the Project nor is the consumed cost when I invoice.

    Hi,

Make sure required transaction types are enabled in project parameters>cost commitments.
