Contact is receiving email when Opportunity is created

When a new Opportunity record is manually created, the Contact is receiving an email from the on-prem CRM (8.2.1.176). There are no workflows that contain steps that send emails for Opportunities. There are no email templates with this wording under CRM email templates or Click Dimensions email templates. There is nothing under System Jobs. There is nothing under Activities -> All Emails. The previous system admin is no longer at this company.

Any help with tracking down where this email is originating would be appreciated. Thanks.

    Found it! Not in CRM, sorry. It is coming from another program linked to CRM.

    Thank you Aric and I am sorry I did not get back to you sooner, but I had a family emergency and was out. I have checked for SDK Messages but there are none ("No Sdk Message Processing Step records are available in this view.") I can "add existing" for the following:

    ActivityFeeds.Plugins.OpportunityCreate: Create of account

    ActivityFeeds.Plugins.OpportunityCreate: Create of competitor

    ActivityFeeds.Plugins.OpportunityCreate: Create of contact

    ActivityFeeds.Plugins.OpportunityCreate: Create of opportunity for account

    But they are not there unless I add them.

    Hi Rasmus, thank you for your response and I am sorry I did not get back to you sooner. I don't see an advanced find icon on the top menu bar, only global search. When I enter the subject of the email there and search, there are no results.

    Hello,

    I support Aric's suggestion here, but I am puzzled by the fact that the email is nowhere to be found in CRM after it has been sent. If it was created using the CRM API, the activity itself should be visible in CRM. Have you tried an advanced find looking for emails with this specific subject?

    Perhaps the previous system administrator was playing around with the Flow connector? There are ready-to-use Flow templates that handle this kind of thing.

    Most likely a Plugin on the Create Message of opportunity.

    Navigate in your system to Settings -> Solutions and open your solution file.

    When your solution file opens, on the left hand side Tree View, click on "SDK Message Processing Steps"

    In there, look for a step that the SDK Message will be Create and the Primary Object Type Code will be Opportunity.

    If it exists, that is your plugin.

    The question is whether or not you have the code of the Plugin.

    You can always disable it, but it might affect other functionality that is part of the Plugin.
