Lot Tracking table processing slowly

Hi everyone,

We've been experiencing issues recently where the lot tracking table takes a long time to load. For instance, when trying to assign lot tracking on a sales order it sometimes takes up to 10 seconds for the screen to load and show 1 Lot #. This seems to be consistently high across a few SKUs but the time to load has been increasing across all orders. Any ideas on why this may be occuring, and any thoughts on how to speed up the lot tracking table?

A few things to know about our system:

1. Currently we only have 1 Lot number that we're using for these parts, mostly due to the fact that the system is processing so slowly.

2. We run our adjust cost - item entries job twice a week and have automatic cost posting/adjustments set to 0. Our default costing method is FIFO and we manufacture products.

3. Sales orders are for the most part up to date, but we have about 30 from before April in our SO table, with the earliest being 1/9/23.

4. We track this on a daily basis by measuring the average time it takes for Boomi to process a shipconfirm transaction (ship orders) coming from our WMS system. Before we cleaned up our sales table/closed financial periods this shipconfirm process took 20-25 seconds and order, and once we cleaned it up it was closer to 9 seconds an order. Now they're still cleaned up but we're seeing increased processing time of about a second each day (currently at 15 seconds).

    Are you running Business Central online or on prem?

    You can try to use the performance profiler to try to figure out why the process is slow.

    Do you have any customizations around this in your system?

    Hi Inge,

    Thank you for responding to my question. We've used the profiler before/sent the info to Microsoft but haven't gotten feedback from that. There are customizations but nothing that would explain the gradual day by day slowing down of our system (ie we had one release after the decrease in efficiency started)

    You did not say anything about being on-prem or in BC Online?

    If you are in BC online I assume your CSP partner have opened a support ticket with Microsoft around thiss?

    If not, you should ask them to do so.

    Hi Joshua, as suggested by Inge, please connect with your CSP to know the status of your ticket. However, I suggest you remove your customizations completely from an environment and then check if there are any changes in the speed?
