How to create custom (log) entity automatically using predefined template while creating new entity?

Hello,

I have a requirement like when a new Custom entity created, I want to create another custom entity in the background with a predefined structure (or template) for logging purpose, how can I make it possible?

Any thoughts on this problem?

Hi,

To automate these kind of requirement, you will need plugin or workflow. Unfortunately neither can be trigger on create of entity.

Are you sure you want to do this? Asking cause you could create custom entity for some other reference data so even if you achieve this automation, I don't think you want to create audit entity for reference data?

If you just want to add logging for entities, you can do this by creating a single entity and then a plugin to write into that entity. Something like already available add on community.dynamics.com/.../actionable-audit-app-to-access-audit-logs-in-d365
