BPF hidden field

Can somebody advise if there's a way(without involving developers) to default a field to hidden in one of the stages of the BPF, in order to make it visible only if another field from the same stage is being populated? I know how to do the second part so defaulting the field to hidden is actually the problem. Thank you

double click on the field that you want to hide by default , uncheck "visible by default" checkbox that will hide the field from the form when opening the record. If you have business rule that shows the field based on other field it will work.

This is not possible using purely OOB methods - if you include a field in the BPF it ignores the hidden propert, seemingly on the basis that if you need it in the process, then hiding it does not help.

You might be able to use javascript to manipulate the BPF process bar step controls, but this is likely to be unsupported.

Thank you for your reply Chitra, have already done that and it works for the form but not for business process flow bar.

You could try this but I think it only works on the current process stage.

Thank you mscrmba, sorry to be a pain but I'm not familiar at all with J script. Where about do I add these scripts?

Scripts are added into the solution as web resources of type = 'JScript'.

You probably need a coder to talk you through the first one you do (not me).  Perhaps raise another forum question and explain what you're wanting to do & your level of coding experience.
