You should be able to retrieve data from custom entity. For Geofencing, you need to create new Entity Configuration.
In my vanilla org, I followed the step7 in article docs.microsoft.com/.../geofencing, Clicked on New > created new Entity Configuration and in Entity dropdown I was able to select a custom entity created in an organization
Note: You need to have atleast one attribute that is with type double in that custom entity .

Sorry for the inconvenience. In the entity configuration i have created a new custom entity to pick the lat n long for geo tracking but in the geo fencing circle the status is not getting updated with either outside/Inside.
Is there any specific reason where the geo fencing geo tracked is only specific with Account.
In the article under point no 7 i could see they mentioned about this. The challenge for us is, In our org we not using Accounts.

Thanks for highlighting that - There are more things to do after creating a custom entity i.e. you will have to create a new process for linking custom entity record with resource (geofence record). In OOTB configuration, we have a process which is responsible for only linking Account entity record with resource (geofence record) . The entry point for geofencing is via creating a booking. So, we have the Service Account and Resource information on Booking.
