Document Attach on third party customizations

Hi,

Is it possible to extend Document Attach from it's current set of objects (Customers, Vendors, Items, Sales and Purchase Orders) and use it to attach to third party objects?

We have a massive third party addon to GP, and are looking to incorporate Document Attach into our infrastructure - any information on this would be greatly appreciated.
