Viewing Other Stores Quantity on Hand

Hello,  I work for new Dynamics RMS reseller and we are just starting the sales process for a new customer.  They have a question on a capability of RMS Store Operations and POS.  They have over 20 stores and want to know if they can view other stores stock quantities from each individual store.  So, if they are out of a product at an individual store, can they check quantities at other stores?  If they can, the next question is what are the steps necessary to make this possible?  I have been trying to find the answer on my own by just playing with the sample data that comes with the software, but I can't find the View Stores option from within Store Operations Manager or POS.  Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

    Hi Dan,

To get this functionality, you're going to need RMS Headquarters Manager and Headquarters Client. If the company has these set up, there is a tab in the Store Operations Administrator configuration menu, located under File in Store Operations Administrator, called Headquarters Client. If you enter the address and port information of the store's headquarters client, a  "Check Stores" button will be enabled in the F2 items menu of Point of Sale. When it is clicked, the register will connect to the HQ Client, which will connect to Headquarters and download a snapshot of quantities at other stores.

Since you are a new RMS Reseller, maybe you should be asking these questions in the RMS/POS Reseller forum instead of asking your potential clients here. You will get answers from other resellers and Microsoft as well.

Log onto PartnerSource, on the left, click on Communities and find the Microsoft Dynamics RMS forum in the top section.

Please don't take this the wrong way, but if your company its not conversant with HQ, please pass it to some who is, as its a much, much more complicated product than SO. Get familiar with SO, then baby steps (2 or 3 stores) to HQ otherwise you will have a pissed off client!
