Total Available Quantity calculation - Newbie question

I've noticed that the Total Available Quantity is not always a direct function of Total Qty minus Total Reserved Qty. Example: Total Qty = 10, Total Reserved Qty = 5, Total Available Qty = -50 (neg 50). What else is in the Total Available Qty calculation?  I want to explain this calculation to others in the organzation, and I'm trying to back into the number, but I can't seem to make it add up. Any help would be appreciated.

Currently Running NAV 2009 R2.

Thanks,

Jeff

Basically, on hand + total supply - total demand is your quantity available. When you're using the Item Availability screen, the figures are date sensitive as well.
