Hi, I would like to set default Gen. Bus. Posting Group in Production Journal.

Now, it is set to blank as default and I need to set Gen. Posting Group for blank Gen. Bus. Posting Group.

I have tried setting Gen. Bus. Posting Group in Posting FastTab on Released Production Order, but it is not work.

Can I set Gen. Bus. Posting Group as default for Production Journal line?

    Hi,

    Gen. Bus. Posting Group "blank" is the default for inventory movements and production transactions in NAV. Therefore you always need to have a setup for the blank Gen. Bus. Posting Group and the Gen. Prod. Posting Group used. The posting setup contains the accounts for inventory movements.

    What is the reason for your request? Do you have different Gen. Bus. Posting Groups for different production types?

    Ideally, you should setup the General Posting Setups for Gen. Business Group as Blank and Gen. Prod. Posting Group as Item Gen. Prod. Posting Group setup for Production Order.

    If you create the Production Order from Sales Order, system would fill the value from Sales Order - Gen. Bus. Posting Group to Production Order automatically.

    If you want to select the Gen. Bus. Posting Group manually, you can still do it and refresh the Production Order. It is working perfectly fine in standard DB.

    You can also go for customization to setup the Default "Gen. Bus. Posting Group". You need to write the code in Table 5405 - Production Order >  Source No. - OnValidate() trigger.

    "Gen. Bus. Posting Group" := 'DEFAULT VALUE THAT YOU WOULD LIKE TO SETUP'

    I am implementing a solution for OEM business. Creating production orders from a sales order may be a good choice.
