"Automatic reservation is not possible. Do you want to reserve items manually?" prompt

When adding on a sales order is there a way to hide the prompt "Automatic reservation is not possible. Do you want to reserve items manually?"

Just don't want this to pop up and have to click "No" when importing large orders?

I have the same question (0)

    Hi

In Item card check Reserve and you can change to "Never" then you will not get that message. But your company policy may requires to be set on Always or Optional. You can try Optional as well.

Other than that I cannot think about any other method.

In terms of our process I want to reserve items on Sales Orders if we have stock or on a Purchase Order if we have stock due in. If there is no stock or nothing due in I just want to hide the prompt?

    on that Reservation it says...

"Specifies if and how the item will be reserved.

Never: It is not possible to reserve the item.

Optional: You can reserve the item manually.

Always: The item is automatically reserved from demand, such as sales orders, against inventory, purchase orders, assembly orders, and production orders."

So I need it on "Always" just not to to tell me "Automatic reservation is not possible. Do you want to reserve items manually?" if there is no stock or no stock due in?

You will need a customisation to suppress the warning.

If your policy is to always reserve. BC is letting the user know it isn’t able to meet this requirement.

As Guy mentioned this needs customization.

    Hello,

Adding to other replies... Is hiding the prompt your way of not telling the User to reserve manually or that if their is no inventory to reserve against the prompt is meaningless? Either way, you can ask your Partner to stop the prompt from appearing. Contact them to make the customization.

    Hope this helps.

    Thanks,

    Steve

Yes it is just removing the prompt if you are pasting in multiple lines.

The scenario we use is a clothing order this might be 1000+ lines and the supplier sends us a Purchase Order. We copy/paste it into Business Central Sales Order to see what we can supply. Obviously if there is 100 lines out of stock you have to click the prompt 100 times. It would make sense to show 1 at the end rather than prompting 100 times.

But again classic Business Central "Contact your business partner" so they can charge you £100's per hour to make a modification.

Just feels like this is some sort of open source project which makes me feel sick paying £50+ per user when you have to pay so much to make the system work. If Microsoft could hire people that have experience using the product in the real world this could run out the box for so many small businesses in a relatively short time. Such a shame as it is 90% there as a solution.

Also as another idea. The "Suggested Answer" is 90% of the time "Contact your Business Partner".

If I were to pay to make a modification to resolve this I would be willing to share it for free as part of this post. It would be such a better resource on here is the answer was a verified extension you could just download via an accredited partner.

Seems crazy to keep sending people back to partners to develop the same solutions and not giving back to the community.

    Hi

As a end user I totally understand your frustration. Unfortunately, for some request it is no out of box  solution. Sometimes people like yzhums tanya07 Vaishnavi Joshi  write a code and share, you probably can find many example here. I have realized the only reason people here say contact your partner because they do not know your environment or your capability of coding.

Now, this is another question. I assume you want to upload many sales line by using Edit in Excel and you get this message. is this correct? if it is can you try configuration package and see if it works?

Sorry, I know this is an old post - but you don't happen to know which codeunit is throwing this error please? I will suppress it, as the sales staff create a PO for each order, and it reserves automatically from there. They don't want to have to click to dismiss the prompt.

    Hello,

You can turn on ' skip manual reservation' in the sales & receivables setup. thus this notification will not appear anymore.
