Missing ILCs

Posted on by 890

While doing some inventory spot checks, one of my Child items has run negative and it seems it's Parent item has disappeared!  No biggie, I'll just recreate it right?  Nope!  Warning: ILC must be unique.  Except there are no items with that ILC, active or inactive.  Are they hiding somewhere?  Do I need to run some SQL integrity check?

    * ding ding ding *  Turns out there are Aliases that are listed with no ILC ... 46 of them actually.

I am assuming from here I need to  run some SQL queries to get rid of these as they will now show in Manager's Item List without an ILC?

As a side question, are the Check and Reindex functions for the Database something that should be done regularly?

It might be an alias.  Run the Item Alias report and make sure ti doesnt show there.

Manager -> Reports -> Items -> Alias List.

Also make sure it is not an assembly or matrix item code.  You will have to do this from the item list.
