No Scroll Bars on Terminal Server

Posted on by 140

We had someone working from home yesterday. She connected to our network using VPN and then used RDP to connect to a terminal server to run Dynamics. Several screens would open up with no scroll bars on the right. You can barely see part of the bottom scroll bar.

She brought her laptop in today and I can verify that it is the laptop. I get the same behavior when I rdp to the terminal server on her laptop and no-one has it happen when connecting to the terminal server from any other computer.

My understanding is that the terminal server basically just sends back pictures of the screen on the server so I don't understand how anything on the laptop could affect some Dynamics screens and not others. I tried various changes to the laptop display and rdp options but nothing made any difference.

Any idea what might be happening?

Thanks for the suggestion. That might do it. I will see if she can do that on her laptop.

If you did it and can not solve the issue, I think that the remote desktop user profile has a problem. You should create new user and test on her laptop to see it run well or not. I used to get that problem and can not find the reason so I have to create new user for them.

Thanks for the suggestion but that was one of the first things I tried. I tried various options and settings but nothing made any difference to the issue.

    Hi JohnTwohig

When you open Remote desktop connection, check option-Display, choose full screen option then connect, I think it will solve your issue.
