Need to have unit cost default from inventory item and vendor.

Client would like to have the unti cost on a purchase order default from the vendor/inventory item last cost. They order thousands of parts from several vendors and does not keep an updated price sheet from every vendor. She would like to have the system put in the last purchase cost when she chooses a vendor/item. Is there a table that stores this data or does anyone know of a 3rd party product that will handle this?

Thanks,

Jim Gross

    Jim,

Take a look at KB article 849088:

849088 Cost default in Purchasing when using Last Cost in Purchasing Setup

    mbs.microsoft.com/.../KBDisplay.aspx

I suspect if you set Default Unit Cost = Last Cost in PO Setup, the Last Cost for the VendorID/Item will be pulled from the VendItem table to provide the results you're describing.

    Kind Regards,
