Is the architecture of dynamics ax 7 same as dynamic ax 2012. i.e does ax 7 also has the three tier architecture.
Could someone give me a brief explanation on the architecture of Dynamics ax 7.
Thanks,
Nithin.

Hi Nithin,
The Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations architecture is completely overhauled its predecessor, Dynamics AX 2012 R3.
It is built for the cloud, to embrace the investment and innovation happening in the Microsoft Azure cloud.
The Finance and Operations architecture is built for the cloud first and uses a modern user interface, integration, and web technologies.
Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations, Enterprise edition can be deployed on cloud, on-premises, or as a hybrid.
Cloud deployment uses Microsoft Azure, and the production environment is fully managed by Microsoft, while on-premise deployments are deployed locally within a customer's data center.
Tier architecture includes Database ,IIS web service and Web browser.
Please read the link shared above.
Please start from the official documentation:
docs.microsoft.com/.../application-stack-server-architecture
docs.microsoft.com/.../architecture-overview
The architecture is quite different from AX2012. For example there is no client application anymore, instead it's used with a web browser. But there is still an "AOS" (which is now a web application in IIS), and a database (Azure SQL).
