Access Teams - How do you add Access Team members to an entity

1. I have created a Team of type "Access" & added 5 users to subgrid.

2. How do you add this Access Team with the 5 users to an Opportunity.
(The Access Team subgrid on the Opportunity  form only allows you to add users, not access teams.)

RE: Access Teams - How do you add Access Team members to an entity

    Hi Yogesh,

You can manually create Access Team and add members to that team. Then you can share multiple record of any entity with that team with required privilege(Rea/Write etc.) . While we create  Access Team manually, we don't have option to select Entity so there is no any sub-grid of Access Team Entity form only Access Team Template has relationship with Entity.

Generally Access Team Template is used to share entity record where team members are not defined. e.g. "Record 1" can be shared with a team having let's say 4 member and "Record 2 " can be shared with a team having 2 or 3 members.

    Thanks,

    Alok

    Hi Bill,

I think you question has been misunderstood, or at least I feel that way because I have the same question and none of these replies really answer it.

Can you please clarify for me if you have already figured this out?

    Regards,

    Yogesh

    Bill,

Yes, that is the user created Team, I don't know whether you have read this MSDN Article but if not it is nice to read

    msdn.microsoft.com/.../dn481569.aspx

So, there are two types here, user-created (manually) which is point 1 (you said you can add members to the Team) then another one is programmatically.

Remember when you put an access team subgrid in the entity, you can choose which template you are using:

    magwebsitefiles2015.blob.core.windows.net/.../properties.png

So, here is depending on what subgrid template you use.

One entity can have multiple access team template.

Are you using multiple access team template in the same entity?

Just to clarify my question - the Team entity allows you to create a team of type "Access" and when you save it, you can add members to the Team.

Do you then Share this Access Team on the Opportunity form - if so what the difference between sharing a normal team and sharing an Access Team.

    Bill,

You can only add Users in the Access Team, you cannot add Team inside the Team so far.

So in the Opportunity you need to add 5 users instead of the 1 Team record.

This subgrid is to maintain the member, not the Team and Opportunity.

And access team you cannot mix with Team that you have 5 users created before.

    Hope this helps!

    Thanks.

    hi,

An access team doesn't own records and doesn't have security roles assigned to the team. The users have privileges defined by their individual security roles and by the roles from other teams in which they are members. The records are shared with an access team and the team members are granted access rights on the records, such as Read, Write, or Append.

An access team can be created manually (user-created) or automatically (system-managed). You can share multiple records with a user-created access team.
