I have a very strange situation on a New Installation of windows 7 64bit RMS 2.0.0155 in SOPOS. When I click on the journal in SOPOS I get a quick popup that goes away so quickly I cant read it and POS locks up. I have to close and restart SOPOS to make sales. All hardware works fine printer, cashdrawer, pinpad. I am testing new Dell Optiplex 790 for a roll out of 7 systems. Any help or suggestions greatly appreciated!

Do you have a windows printer installed under the control panel -> printers applet. If not install a default printer normal size 8 1/2 x 11.
The journal requires a printer definition on some systems to render the previewed image of the receipt.
Also never use a label printer as the default printer. you will receive a runtime error everytime you open journal.

Is there a setting that will pop the cash drawer when doing a No Sale. A windows 7 print driver works fine for printing receipts and poping the drawer. But when a No Sale draw does not open. Can opos be used without using it on the Printer just for cash drawer? Or is there a setting I am missing?
Found drivers from POSX that allow windows to format all print jobs as receipt format using only enough paper to print the informations as oposed to using a generic text only print driver. The new drivers is going to work well. Thanks Jeff for pointing me in the right direction.
Yes I am using Opos drivers for POSX printer and MMF cash Drawer. I uninstalled the opos drivers and the launching the POS I was getting a Active X error cant create object. So Uninstalled sp4 and FP1 . Reinstalled the FP1 and Sp4. Started POS and Journal works fine. So OPOS is the culprit. Is there a way of using windows drivers to a 40 column receipt printer? I thought OPOS was the optimal way to go as it worked fine in XP PRO. Thanks for all your help.
I've never seen this before and we've been using 64 bit since Vista days, although we don't install it for registers unless forced too. Printer driver issues usually
Are you using an OPOS printer driver, if so delete it and then retry it after a re-start.
I installed Sql Server 2008 express edition to upgrade 2005 to try rule out SQL Server. Installation was a breeze but did not help. I uninstalled RMS and Sql Server 2005 and then reinstalled everything, with the same results. Then checked windows update which it downloaded sql server 2005 service pack 4. No errors in logs that I can find. No change everything works EXCEPT the receipt journal in SOPOS. Not sure where to go from here.
I tried the compatibilty mode no affect on the problem. I have checked event logs, nothing. Anyone have RMS 2.0155 working correctly on WIN 7 Pro 64bit working correctly?
7 pro, I wasn't running in compatiblity mode but I will try that in the morning. Thanks for suggestion.
Hi DW,
Which edition of Windows 7 are you running?
Are you logged in as an Administrator or a Windows User?
Is the POS software set to run as an Administrator in compatibility mode for Windows XP SP3?
