Good morning

i'm new using Dynamcis BC, but i have some questions about Dimensions, i have for example a Cost Center "Dirección" but has tree divisions and my Value Dimension are:

DEPTO

10001 Direccion US

10002 Direccón MEX

10003 Dirección COL

Then this is correct? because i need sumarize all value dimension that begins with 1 to explain the current cost for Direccion is that amount.

or is better separate in two dimension the DEPTO?

DEPTO

1000 Direcction

BRANCH

US - USA

MEX - MEXICO

COL - COLOMBIA

i did some test for example in the chart of account and i try to use 1* but doesn't filter, but i don't now if the reason is because the filter for the value dimension you can't use *

i entered that journal entries, but when i filter in the chart of accounts, doesn' filter anything

and i select the dimension value

then if i put the * is the same

Sergemtz,

If i am following you, you want to setup a Dimension called 'Direccion' with 3 values. When you post transactions, you want to see them individually and in summary. As for setting up the Dimension, you top setup looks good. Here is my sample:

Then we see the values:

Now when you post transactions, you record the different US, MEX or COL dimensions but when you run Analysis by Dimensions, you will see the individual and Total, shown below:

Flow filter doesn't work with Wild Cards (*)

I would implement dimensions combinations A good article can be found here

Hello,

I have gone through your question and still have to confirm with you that the dimension which you are talking about is Global Dimensions or Shortcut Dimensions?

Reason behind this question is if it is Global Dimensions then you can filter on the page like this with the ** but if it is shortcut then you will not able to filter like *1* in that case you need to filter with Dimension Set ID.

Example

1. Global Dimension:

As you can see in below image we can add filter like below image.

2. Shortcut Dimension:

As you can see in below image we can add filter as below for Shortcut Dimension
