Different date notation in Excel-export

Posted on by Microsoft Employee

Exporting to Excel shows different data notations.

  • From 1-12 of the month we see the format 'DD-MM-YYYY'
  • From 13-31 of the month we see the format 'MM-DD-YYYY'

We prefer 'DD-MM-YYYY' but how can we arrange this? It happens with all date-fields from Dynamics.

I checked the link, and I understand the situation in Excel. But it doesn't solve my problem.

I have found something new. When I export to:

    - Open in Excel Online: no problem with the format

    - Static worksheet: no problem with the format

    - Dynamic worksheet: no problem with the format

    - Dynamic pivottable: two different formats

What is different in a pivottable?

    1. Change the format of the row in Excel itself.

    >> nothing happens

    2. Was the data entered this way to start off with?

    >> In CRM Online the data is showed correctly. It happens when we export the data.

    3. Have you checked personal and global format and date settings?

    >> I think we have checked all the settings, but maybe there are more places?
