GL Account Number stored on project accounting tables

In trying to create a smartlist that will pull project accounting data by gl transaction date, I discovered that when the account index number is stored on the project accounting tables, it is not pulling from the distribution detail on the transaction but from the project card data in existence at the time the transaction is initiated.

Any changes made to gl accounts in the distribution details window are not stored on the project tables. 

Any suggestions for getting the actual gl number that the transaction posted to?

    Hello,

    the *cost transaction* detail history and *cost transaction* distribution history file tables should have the values you are looking for. These should will be saved with the cost transaction, there is no way GP won't allow you to see the GL accounts that were affected when posting a transaction.

    Also you can link the account index to gl00105 to get the actual account number string.

    Karen - I'm sure you already know this, but you are correct that the project detail lines hold default accounts, not actual accounts and since the distribution tables summarize, it can make it extremely difficult to get back to those details without a manual process.  Will you consider voting on the following suggestion to change that? https://connect.microsoft.com/dynamicssuggestions/feedback/details/1262276
