This serial number is already assigned to an existing inventory item - system message 15406

Hi,

Using Microsoft Solomon Version 5.50.2053    5.5

I'm crediting an order to bring items back into stock and receiving the below error in the Shipment Confirmation screen:

System message 15406

This serial number is already assigned to an exisiting inventory item

When looking up the history of the inventory item, it has only been invoiced to the order that I'm trying to receipt.

Has anybody seen this message before and what did you do to rectify it?

Assistance would be greatly appreciated, feeling very frustrated!
